A gray mist hovers over the dark dusty ash
Hot to the touch, the ground burns beneath
No soul can survive the fiery furnace below
Everything melts from its radiant glow.
Once there was color from foliage and timber
A beautiful land where animals ran free
Quickly the lava covers everything in sight
Now leaving the land, dark as night.
As I look at the crusty charcoal earth
I’m reminded of what eternity will be
The lost souls among the ashes of sin
Never to feel God’s love again.
