As I sat alone contemplating over the past year and reminiscing of things I am thankful for, I recall the mighty hand of God protecting, healing, restoring, supplying and guiding my husband and I in ways that we MUST give Him praise.
He has taken us through the Spiritual school of learning that we will be better equipped to serve Him and others. He has provided transportation when the need was essential for our progress and necessity. When funds were not available, His hand of provision guided man’s heart to meet our needs.
We have been through the mighty waters of distress, yet His hand reached down and pulled us to safety. There have been times when we wondered if God even heard our cries, but the tears soon turned to joy when His voice pierced our spiritual ears and gave us hope.
It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)
I am so thankful for the bread of life; that satisfies my hunger for righteousness. I am so thankful for the words of life that God left us, so we would be able to read and learn more about Him and His love for His creation. It grieves my heart that it has taken me so long to realize just how much He cares.
I am also thankful that God has put me in a country where I have the opportunity to be able to share the Gospel without being put into prison or even worse, tortured or murdered. There are many evil forces we cannot see that work behind the enemy’s lines. We as soldiers of the cross need to put on our full armor and stand undefeated. I am thankful that the Lord has given us this armor.
I am thankful for my church, my church family and my Pastors. The Lord has blessed us with those who love God and desire to please Him in all they do. He has given us a Preacher-Teacher, who is filled with the wisdom of God and able to teach us from the Scriptures things that open our eyes even more to understanding and learning about the Bible and how to live as victorious Believers.
Most of all, I am so thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For His willingness to go to the cross and bear my sins and punishment, that I might be able to comprehend just what length and what depth God would go to prove His love for me and the whole world…all because He loves us.
